Born and raised in Citrus Heights, California, Mandisa pursued her passion for music after graduating from El Camino Fundamental High School. She continued her studies in Vocal Jazz at American River College in Sacramento before earning her Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on vocal performance from Fisk University in Tennessee.
